Trewick is delighted for Williams

John Trewick is delighted that Andy Williams is in 'pole position' to start tomorrow for the Bulls against the Daggers.

The Hereford United coach told the Worcester News that Williams made a terrific impression against Woking last Saturday.

"Andy Williams is in the team and I'm delighted for him," said Trewick. "He's worked tremendously hard and pushed himself forward.

"He was selected last Saturday with Guy Ipoua. Both played well, both scored a goal each and they caused Woking's defence all sorts of problems. It was great to see.

"He is now in pole position. It's up to him to continue to work hard to keep other players out of the side.

"Andy has a lot of enthusiasm for the game. He's got a good touch and technically he's a very good player. He can produce a finish and, last year, got his fair share of goals in the reserves.

"He's had a lot of support from the fans and quite rightly so. That's fantastic. I think the supporters like a local lad coming through into the team."

Trewick also looked forward to tomorrow's game.

"If we perform the way we did last Saturday, we will all be happy. What we are looking for is that consistency.

"We will not be underestimating Dagenham. A lot of things change in the space of a few years. Everybody knows what happened a couple of years ago, but the game changes and moves on quickly."

Trewick also revealed that both Stansfield and Simon Travis came through a reserve game at Cheltenham, but that their fitness levels need improving and both are unlikely to figure.
