Dunbavin Sacked By Halifax

Following his second conviction for drink driving, Halifax have sacked Goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin.

Former Liverpool trainee Dunbavin, 25, was virtually an ever present in the side after signing from Shrewsbury in the summer of 2004, but was dropped from the side after being charged just weeks after regaining his licence.

39 year old Goalkeeping Coach Lee Butler was called into the side after retiring from professional football in January 2001, and will continue in goal until a replacement for Dunbavin can be found.
