Dunbavin Guilty Of Drink Driving

Halifax goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin was convicted yesterday of Drink Driving for the second time.

Dunbavin, 25, had only recently returned from a 20 month driving ban for the same offence in early 2004 before he joined Halifax, and has now been given a 3 year ban from driving plus a £700 fine after being caught with an alcohol level of twice the legal limit.

Halifax officials are meeting today to discuss the keeper's future with the club. Chris Clarke was convicted of the same offence whilst playing for Halifax last season but the club kept the punishment inhouse, though the player departed the Shay in the summer when his contract expired.
