Turner Will Not Underestimate Alfreton

Speaking in the Hereford Times, Graham Turner said he would treat Alfreton with the utmost respect: "Without taking anything for granted, we could not really ask for a better draw. A home draw against a team from a lower division is as much as can be hoped for."

"Nethertheless, we will treat them with the utmost respect. They have a great deal of experience at Football League and Conference level in their squad and no doubt they will fancy their chances of causing an upset."

Alfreton Secretary Brian Rudkin looked at the financial side of the competition: "Hereford are a strong Conference National side but the £10,000 prize money for the winners and a place in the first round for the second successive season will be a big incentive for us. Also Mark Turner's presence in our line-up will add a little extra spice to the match."

The Hereford Times article also confirms that it is unlikely that Matt Bailey will play against Alfreton for his final game of his month's loan with Crewe are unwilling to let the striker get cup-tied. 19 year old Bailey was ever present during his loan so far and has scored twice in five games.

In his column, Turner talks about the Herefordshire Corporate Performance Awards evening, where the Culb collected the third place award for medium sized businesses, adding that in the darkest days he and Joan Fennessey met with an insolvency practictioner with a view to placing the Club in full administration but that, as always, something came up to cover the bills and inch the Club towards stability.
