Ironworks Gazette recently interviewed Gavin Williams. He talks about team-mate Darren Blewitt coming to Edgar Street. Below is part of the interview:
Whilst Darren Blewitt still awaits to make his loan debut for Hereford United, his West Ham United colleague and former Bull Gavin Williams believes that Darren has made the right choice. Gavin told IG:
"I think that when you go out on loan you have got to go to the right club, it is no use going to any old club - it has to be the right club for that person. Obviously as you know I was at Hereford and one thing about that club is that they try to play football. I think that it will be a great experience for Darren and I think that he will do well there. He needs to get some first team games"
It will be a big jump from reserve team football despite the Hammers being in the Premiership and the Bulls being in the Conference and Gavin explained:
"It is not the same really because obviously the three points at first team level means a lot more than three points at reserve team level. So it adds much more of a competitive edge to it"
Whilst Gavin is still very popular at Edgar Street, Hereford United fans are well known on the international scene as big followers of the England national team. But Gav will be thinking of his native Wales as they shortly face England in the World Cup qualifiers:
"Hopefully I will be in the squad and they don't come much bigger than a Wales v England World Cup qualifier, you know for a Welshman playing against England at Cardiff so fingers crossed. If I am selected that would be the biggest game of my career so far"
