Last minute goal means defeat for United

An injury time strike meant a 3-2 defeat for Hereford United against Bristol Rovers at Edgar Street today.

The Bulls went behind just before the end of the first half as Steve Elliott's header opening the scoring.

After the restart, Rob Purdie struck from twenty-five yards, and then Adam Stansfield netted to put Hereford ahead.

Rovers' Jefferson Louis levelled late on, and then in injury time, Mark Richards scored the winner for the League Two outfit.

Hereford's squad this afternoon included Stacy Coldicott who started the game but was replaced at half-time. Graham Evans also started. But there was no sign of Andy Ferrell who had a good game last Wednesday. UPDATE 7.30pm Ferrell played for Darlington this afternoon in a match which was abandoned at half-time because of a security alert.

The Bulls brought on a fresh striker called Drew Davidson during the second half. It has not been confirmed but it could have been Doncaster striker Guy Ipoua. However he looked short of match practice.

A couple of other trialists came on late in the game.

Full report shortly.
