There is a full programme of Conference games this Saturday. Hereford United entertain Crawley Town at Edgar Street and there are several other games whose results could influence whether Hereford can start to make up ground on the other clubs hoping to be in the play-off places at the end of the season.
Runaway leaders Barnet have formwise the easiest task of the top teams with a home match against Farnborough who are second from bottom.
Halifax, who moved up to second position after their televised win over York City last Monday, travel to Scarborough. The seadogs are unbeaten at the McCain Stadium this season and could make life difficult for their opponents.
Aldershot, third, are at home to Stevenage, sixth. Just four points separates these two and the Shots, who could only draw at Canvey Island last Saturday, will need to be on best form to take all three points.
Fourth placed Woking play at Exeter who are seventh. The Grecians were dumped out of the Trophy by Conference South leaders Grays Athletic last Saturday but returned to winning ways in the Conference last Tuesday with a 3-1 win over Burton. Woking were also put out of the Trophy last Saturday when they lost at Burton. Maybe a draw at this venue.
Carlisle returned to winning ways last weekend when they defeated Accrington Stanley and should take three points off Northwich at Brunton Park.
Stanley, who lie in ninth place, have a home game against improving Morecambe. David Brown is expected to feature for the home side, but might not be on the winning side.
Some of the teams above and around Hereford are bound to drop points this Saturday. As long as the Bulls defeat Crawley they could move up as high as fifth place but this assumes that Carlisle lose and that seems highly unlikely. Should the Bulls lose, then it is possible they could drop as far down as eleventh position.
