It won't be easy at Southport

Although Hereford United hope to have a fully fit squad to choose from, coach John Trewick admits that the tie could be difficult.

"Southport are doing well and we know it won't be an easy tie. Even so, if we approach it with the same commitment and determination we would if we were up against a Coca-Cola league side then we should make it to the second round," Trewick told the Hereford Journal.

Hereford United will need to watch Terry Fearns, the Southport striker, who has been voted Conference North player of the month for October with 32.5% of the vote.

Meanwhile Rob Purdie was in Italy for this afternoon's English National game at Ivera.

The game finished with England winning 1-0. Barnet's Simon King scored the only goal.
