No fears going away

Graham Turner has told the Hereford Times that the Bulls will not be intimidated by Chester City, saying that Saturday's clash at the Deva Stadium "holds no fears for us".

"Chester are physically a big side and operate with three central defenders and two central midfielders who keep their shape and clear their lines when necessary," he said.

"But we're expecting a big following and there should be a good atmosphere."

Ben Smith has also spoken about the match to BBC Hereford & Worcester. The midfielder proclaimed: "It's going to be a tight game. It's going to be a clash of styles. They are really strong defensively and we are scoring a lot of goals. So it should be an interesting game.

"I think if we can get the first goal, we will have every chance of beating them. But if they score first, it will be very hard for us to get anything out of the game.

"We will be delighted if we draw, but we are going there to win, like we go to every game."

As HU-FC.co.uk reported on Tuesday, Chester have kept 2400 spaces for Bulls supporters.

Although Andy Tretton is still not fit, Rob Purdie is said to be on the road to recovery and should be available shortly.

It is not only Hereford United who are doing well at present. The Carillion company, which has a large stake in Formsole to whom United owe well over £1m, has seen its shares rise from a low point of 107p to a current high of 186p. Carillion are expected to be involved with the Edgar Street project.
