Watson - An Outstanding Free Kick.

South Shields manager Ian Watson gave Hereford a lot of praise in his post match interview at Edgar Street yesterday.

"It was a good game, two really good sides," said Watson.

"We created so many moments, we entered their box so many times.

"Fair play to them they got some unbelievable blocks in, their keeper pulled off some really good saves.

"And then we concede two goals from 25/30 yards out and that's what defined the scoreboard.

"But we didn't give up, we kept on going."

Watson spoke about the two Hereford goals.

"We didn't start the second half great, the game was a bit basketballey.

"But credit to the opposition, they had a game plan and came with a lot of energy.

"And the new manager has gone in there and has done really well.

"The first goal is one of them, it was a bit of a cross shot kind of thing where it has just curled in at the back post.

"And then the second one is an outstanding free kick from the boy, I think it was 30 yards out.

"He hits it with loads of whip, loads of dip, he gets it up and over the wall and it's an outstanding finish.

"You feel hard done by because you don't deserve to be 2-0 down but that's the way football goes."
