National North League Weekend Preview

A look forward to tomorrow's National North League fixtures written by Tom Scott from the National League.

The big issue was solved in midweek as the first relegation of the season was confirmed. We've got so much more to get done in the next few weeks.

Here's what is coming up this weekend...

We can only really start with the title race that has more twists and turns than one of the rollercoasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The famous attraction is just nine miles west of current leaders AFC Fylde's Mill Farm home - it was Worksop Town who threw a spanner in the works last week.

The Coasters look to get back on track against Darlington this weekend.

Desperate to leapfrog them at the top will be South Shields who host Alfreton Town who are fighting for their lives at the opposite end of the table.

Leamington have already dropped after their midweek defeat - it's Peterborough Sports next whose survival battle is still just about alive despite being five points adrift.

Hereford are slightly better off but the Bulls need to slash their four-point gap to safety.

In-form Buxton are up next for Aaron Downes' side while Oxford City - currently just above the drop zone - welcome Kidderminster Harriers.

King's Lynn Town were the ones to relegate the Brakes and pick up a much-needed win themselves. Can they follow it up against four-unbeaten Spennymoor Town?

Bedford Town have a small cushion to the bottom four and head to AFC Telford United who also have their own ambitions of getting the right side of the dotted line - only the Bucks are targeting seventh-place.

Chester may still get there but a win at Curzon Ashton is a must this weekend you'd think.

Defeat for Scarborough Athletic would help the Seals - and others around them - out as Jonathan Greening's side entertain Chorley.

The Magpies announced the shock departure of fan favourite Tom Carr this week and should be safe but need to string results together to make sure.

Elsewhere, Worksop Town have three wins from five and host a Radcliffe side in freefall.

Bernard Morley's side were in the top seven at the start of February but now sit six points away - a total by no means insurmountable.
