National League North club sacks manager after poor run

Curzon Ashton have sacked head coach Mark Bradshaw following a poor run of form in National League North.

The Nash confirmed on Wednesday that Bradshaw had been relieved of his duties, ending his short spell in charge.

In a brief statement, the club said: “Curzon Ashton Football Club can this afternoon announce that Mark Bradshaw has been relieved of his role as Head Coach of the first team.

“The club would like to place on record our thanks to Mark for all his efforts and commitment to the club over the last few seasons and wish him well going forward.”

A further update on a replacement is expected in due course.

Bradshaw took charge in June 2025 following the departure of long-serving boss Craig Mahon, who left after five years to take up the head coach role at AFC Fylde.

While Bradshaw has been involved with Curzon in various roles over the past two decades, results this season have failed to match last year’s campaign, when Curzon finished eighth - with goal difference seeing them miss out on a play-off place.

They currently sit 16th in National League North with 46 points from 39 games and are without a win in six matches.

Recent results have included heavy defeats to promotion-chasing sides, losing 5-1 at Fylde and 4-1 at Spennymoor Town, while they were also held to a 2-2 draw by relegation-threatened Oxford City.

Curzon are the latest National League North club to change managers mid-season, with Hereford, King's Lynn and Spennymoor also making changes over the last six weeks.
