Philips to replace James

BBC Hereford and Worcester have reported that Roger Philips, head of the Conservative group on Herefordshire Council, is likely to become their new leader replacing Liberal Terry James.

It appears that Philips has done a deal with the Independent group, headed by ex-Bulls director George Hyde, to run the council.

Asked about plans for the Edgar Street area, Philips said: "The developement of Edgar Street was not totally reliant on council money. What we are waiting for is the result of the consultant's feasibility study of what is viable and can be delivered."
