All set for the big kick-off
The Four Nations International Tournament kicks off tomorrow and HU-FC.co.uk will cover the Wales vs Scotland match at Carmarthen as we track the progress of Hereford United's Paul Parry and Tony James.
Both players were in the Welsh squad which won the tournament last season, as a 5-2 win over the Irish Republic at York Street, Boston United, in the final match, handed them the title with seven point over Eire's six. Carmarthen Town manager Tomi Morgan once again manages the Welsh squad, who will be eager to retain the Trophy on home soil.
There were no United players in the England side which finished third, but this season better things are expected. Paul Fairclough has taken over from John Owens at the helm, and selected both Matt Baker and Michael Rose from the Edgar Street ranks.
Rank outsiders are Scotland, who lost all three matches last time and only scored once, but their biggest threat looks to be in attack where Ian Murray, brother of Bristol City's Paul, scored fifty goals for Deveronvale in the Highland League this season. The Irish, under the stewardship of Tony Cousins, could be the surprise package with a youthful squad.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
Tuesday - 7.30pm kick-off
CARMARTHEN TOWN FC - Wales vs Scotland
MERTHYR TYDFIL FC - England vs Eire
Thursday - 7.30pm kick-off
MERTHYR TYDFIL FC - Wales vs England
