National North League Weekend Preview

Tom Scott from the National League looks at the games taling place in the National North League this weekend.

All change at the top and in the dugout for a number of Enterprise National League North sides this week.

Three new or returning faces take their first games this weekend after new-returning leaders were crowned in midweek.

Here's what's coming up this weekend...

South Shields are back on top again after their crunch clash with AFC Fylde in midweek.

That result means the Mariners are on a 14-game unbeaten run as they host Curzon Ashton while the Coasters are looking to get back to winning ways on the road at Leamington.

Only two other sides have been top this season - Merthyr Town and Macclesfield.

Merthyr know their fight will be for a guaranteed semi-final place in the play-offs and they head to Radcliffe while Macclesfield - with only one defeat in seven games - host Chorley.

It's not all about the battle to get out. Some are fighting for their lives to stay in the division.

Peterborough Sports welcome Michael Gash back into the dugout for their clash with Southport this weekend.

The Port have been in decent form lately but could be dragged back within touching distance of the bottom four with defeat at Lincoln Road.

King's Lynn also have a new man in the dugout as Paul Caddis takes his first game for the Linnets against Marine.

Hereford have been frustrated with postponements for a while but have lost just once in their last four outings - the Bulls head to Worksop Town knowing a win could see them take a giant leap towards safety.

Bedford have a good six-point buffer to the bottom four but head to Spennymoor Town desperate not to get dragged into a dogfight at the bottom.

It's all change at Chester too as Connell Rawlinson takes his first game against Darlington. Only six points separate the Quakers in fifth and the home side in tenth.

Buxton haven't given up on the play-offs just yet but know a win against Kidderminster Harriers is a must if they're to keep their hopes alive while AFC Telford United could be back in the top seven with a win over Alfreton Town.

Elsewhere Oxford City have lost just once in five ahead of the visit of Scarborough Athletic.
