National North League Weekend Preview

Tom Scott from the National League HQ has written this preview.

There isn't much to split the Enterprise National League North table wherever your side sit going into another big weekend of action.

With league action back up to a full compliment after the FA Cup and FA Trophy hiatus who will start looking ahead to the business end in the best way?

It's back to Earth for Macclesfield - for now at least. The Silkmen's heroics will still be fresh in the minds of their supporters ahead of their clash with Oxford City.

With the leaders away Merthyr Town more than took their chance to close the gap courtesy of an eight-goal thriller.

The Martyrs are back at home this weekend - a place where they haven't lost since the beginning of November - against Peterborough Sports.

Worksop were on the wrong end of that eight-goal defeat last weekend and head to Kidderminster Harriers who are looking for seven wins in a row.

South Shields own the best home record in the division so far this season and host Leamington who have the worst away record - the Brakes are yet to win on the road.

Watching those around them very closely will be leaders AFC Fylde.

Scarborough Athletic head to the Coasters this weekend on a fair run of five unbeaten on the road.

King's Lynn Town are without a win in six games as they host struggling Hereford, while Southport will be looking to follow-up their midweek FA Trophy heroics at Bedford Town.

A much-needed win for Alfreton Town last time out and look to follow that up at Darlington.

AFC Telford United had their strong run halted by rivals Kidderminster Harriers last time out and look to bounce back at play-off place hunters Curzon Ashton.

Spennymoor Town are also in still in the top-seven picture despite their up-and-down recent form.

Graeme Lee's side welcome Radcliffe this weekend - a side who they have already beaten this season.

Elsewhere, Buxton host Marine while Chorley head to Chester looking for their first away win since the end of August.
