Mills Appointed Interim Manager Of Milton

Former Hereford striker John Mills has been appointed manager of Milton until the end of the season.

Milton United are delighted to announce that John Mills will take over as First-Team Manager until the end of the season, following Christian’s departure. Christian will be stepping away after Friday night's game with North Leigh and John will begin working with Tom Tatford (Tatty) and the squad immediately to ensure we remain constant as we continue to build and reach the goals we set at the start of the season.

Mills brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success across non-league football. As a player, he was one of the most prolific strikers in the region, enjoying standout goal-scoring spells at clubs including North Leigh, Didcot Town, Hereford, Bath City, and Banbury United. During his time at Hereford, he became a fan favourite, helping the club secure multiple promotions and earning a reputation as one of the most clinical forwards at that level.

His leadership qualities were further demonstrated during his time as player-manager of Abingdon United, where he guided the team through a period of stability and led them to promotion last season. Known for his competitiveness, professionalism, and high standards, Mills has already built strong relationships within the local football community something that will be invaluable in his new role at Milton United.

The club is confident that John’s experience, ambition, and deep understanding of the game will provide strong direction as we enter the second half of the season. We would also like to place on record our thanks to Christian Lawrence for his commitment and dedication during his time in charge and wish him all the best for the future. Please join us in welcoming John Mills into his new role. We look forward to an exciting and positive remainder of the campaign under his leadership.
