Southport are 2-0 ahead at the break in this afternoon's National League North match at Edgar Street.
Despite starting brightly and forcing two saves out of visiting keeper Chris Renshaw, Southport took the lead in the 29th minute as Danny Lloyd's inswinging corner from the right curled into the back of the net.
But Hereford soon found themselves playing against 10 men as Callum Edwards picked up a second yellow in the 36th minute for a push on Lewis Hudson, delaying a throw one hosts wanted to take quickly.
Despite the man advantage, Southport doubled their lead in first half stoppage time. Jordan Slew got the better of Aaron Skinner as Hereford were hit on the break, slotting low past Richardson.
Deary me, Southport started the afternoon propping up the table.
