Oxford City boss Ross Jenkins has admitted Hereford looked bright, sharp and full of energy in the first half - but after the break, they made sure travelling fans didn't have much to cheer about.
As Oxford chalked up their first win and first clean sheet since thrashing Alfreton 5-0 on 2nd September, Hereford fell to their seventh league defeat of the season.
With Matt Preston sent off for a second bookable offence before the break, Oxford took the lead as Josh Ashby converted the resulting free kick. Speaking after the game, Caddis said this was the turning point.
And things went from bad to worse as a mistake by Michael Parker saw Tom Scott double his side's lead before substitute Jack Bearne made it three with seven minutes to go.
For Hoops boss Jenkins, he was relieved his side, lying 23rd in the National League North table, bagged three points.
"It was difficult, we made it difficult for ourselves," the 34-year-old, who is in his second spell at Oxford, said.
"The man down is tricky because sometimes it's difficult to play against 10, as we know, the last game, Leamington.
"But most important thing was the three points today. We weren't 100% brilliant, there were some areas that still weren't that good but clean sheet was massive. We should have scored maybe four or five."
Speaking to the club's official YouTube channel, he said stats showed Hereford had 22 shots, albeit some from range, so his side needs to get better in closing players down.
"I thought we did well tonight with their fans," he added, with a crowd of 618 at the MGroup Stadium.
"I thought they brought a few, we spun them around, we made sure that they didn't have much, second half, to cheer about with their fans.
"We've experienced some - Chorley away, Kidderminster, sort of in mind - the fans are influencing the attacks and bringing that ball into the goal.
"We spun them around tonight and it might have worked, I don't know. The red card definitely helped but we have to then test the defenders to create that red card.
"We wanted to be front-footed, I thought we had that in spells.
"I thought first half, they actually started quite well, Hereford, so give them credit. They passed the ball well, they looked nice and sharp and bright and full of energy - we had to weather it and I thought we did that really well and to score at the right moments and right times where normally it's against us."
