Midfielder Sam Osborne has joined Hereford on a season long loan from Alfreton.

The 26-year-old started his career at Notts County before playing for Leamington, AFC Fylde, Buxton and Boston. He joined Alfreton in February.

He has made a total of 114 appearances in National League North, scoring 30 goals. He also scored four goals in 31 games in the National League.

Hereford manager Paul Caddis said he has tracked the creative midfielder "for some time."

“Sam is a player I’ve tracked for quite some time if truth be told, but with other opportunities and work commitments it wasn’t quite possible to get him over the line.

“He will bring us creativity at the top end of the pitch and he is a player who will work hard, both in and out of possession, to be a positive influence for us.

Osborne will go straight into the squad for this afternoon's friendly at Chippenham.

'Delighted to be here and get this all sorted! Excited to see you fans at Edgar Street'
