Chorley boss admits Caddis is doing a fantastic job after having a difficult time

Chorley manager Andy Preece has praised the work his Hereford counterpart is doing before the side travels to Edgar Street on Saturday.

Preece, who has more than 1,000 games in football management under his belt, said Paul Caddis's side will be boosted by their first win of the season at Buxton on Tuesday, calling it a fantastic result.

Having lost their opening two games 2-0, the Bulls bounced back with Remaye Campbell's first-half brace getting them off the mark after some heavy criticism from fans.

For Chorley, they'll be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season having picked up six points against Darlington and Chester before a 2-2 draw at home to Scarborough on Tuesday - a result he felt was fair.

Looking ahead to the game on Saturday, the former Worcester City boss who'll be hoping his side make the play-offs again is waiting to see how three fast-paced, high-intensity games have affected his players.

He went on to praise Caddis for the job he's doing at Edgar Street, highlighting difficulties such as the cancelled pre-season friendly against Leicester City U21s and losing players like Alex Babos, Tate Campbell, Jaiden White and Sammy Robinson.

Preece said: "It's been a hard place for us to go over the last few years. Very good side.

"Paul does a fantastic job with what he's got. He's had it difficult over the preseason. They've had a few issues with preseason games and things like that."

"He's lost a few of his regular players. He's having what we've had where people are coming and taking players. So, he's sort of having to rebuild a little bit.

"They've shown great character again tonight to go to Buxton and win is a fantastic result for then. They'll be buoyed by that that. We know that's a that's a real real tough place to go.

Hoping to have a decent following to help them pick up points, Preece conceded: "We know it's going to be a tough one after Hereford's result tonight."
