Ron Parrott (centre of picture) Helping Raise Funds For The Club In 2012 |
As reported earlier today Ron Parrott has died.
Below a few words from Richard Prime.
Ron Parrott, whose knowledge and expertise concerning all things Edgar Street-related was unsurpassed, has died at the age of 75 after a long period of ill health.
Ron was a lifelong Hereford United and Hereford FC supporter and his passionate enthusiasm for the Bulls was well known through a series of books, written with John Williamson and Richard Prime, detailing the clubs’ history.
At the time of his death he was still in the midst of a massive and long-standing project researching the history of football at Edgar Street going back to 1924.
Away from football, Ron was a follower of most sports as well as a keen ‘Munro-bagger’ and had secured almost all of those Scottish peaks before ill-health began to take its toll.
Ron leaves his widow Elaine and two children. Details of his funeral will follow when available.
