Mitchell - Defence Put In A Good Shift

Darlington's assistant manager Terry Mitchell felt his side deserved to win at Hereford yesterday but admitted they had given too many fouls way in the first half.

"The defence put in a good shift," said Mitchell.

"But in the first half we were our own worst emeny by giving away stupid free kicks which allowed them chances to load the box.

"Second half we done that better.

"The keeper when called upon has had to make some routine saves, that's credit to the whole team.

"We restricted a really good side on a good run to very, very few chances."

Mitchell was asked if their first goal should have been disallowed - some thought there was an offside in the build up.

"Without seeing it back I don't want to say yes or no because I'm not certain from where we are.

"He took it really well and it's been given.

"We'll have a look on the bus."
