Club Statement Re Spennymoor Game

Hereford FC have released the following statement:

Hereford FC officials have confirmed they are looking into reports of personal abuse – including racist language – being directed towards staff working at Saturday’s game against Spennymoor Town.

Bulls Chairman, Chris Ammonds, said:

“We will not tolerate discriminatory behaviour of any kind at Edgar Street and will act robustly to deal with any individuals found to be behaving in this manner.

“Hereford FC is proud to be a welcoming, family friendly football club which people from all backgrounds can enjoy supporting. The alleged actions of a small minority will not be allowed to tarnish the reputation of everyone else associated with the club.

“As always, we would ask anyone who has witnessed unacceptable behaviour to report it to club staff (at jgriffiths@herefordfc.co.uk) or the police – in confidence if necessary – so that it can be dealt with properly.

“I’d also like to once again reiterate that everyone who cares about our club is an ambassador for it. Please behave responsibly and respectfully at all times and don’t allow your own behaviour to have a detrimental impact on the enjoyment other people get from supporting their team.”
