Hereford FC are looking for volunteers to help remove the frost covers from the Edgar Street on Saturday morning.
The aim is to remove them at 9am so that head groundsman Ben Bowen can prepare the pitch ahead of the game against Warrington which kicks-off at 1pm.
Jamie Griffiths, Hereford FC general manager, commented.
"Despite the freezing temperatures, the pitch has remained playable over the past 48 hours, and taking into account the latest weather forecasts between now and kick off, we remain confident that the game will go ahead as planned.
"The covers are doing their job, protecting the surface from the
elements, however we will continue to monitor the weather forecast and
pitch conditions, and if anything changes we will communicate with fans
asap."
