Hereford Chairman Talks About Floodlight Problems

Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds has outlined to BBC Hereford and Worcester the recent problems with the floodlights given the game against Kidderminster has been brought forward to 1pm on Boxing Day.

"There was an issue with the floodlights on Tuesday night, towards the end of the match," said Ammonds.

"Although we think we have identified the problem and how that can be resolved, because it's work that needs doing and it's not a sizeable job but it will take a bit of time, the repair potentually could be done by Boxing day but we won't have time to test the floodlights to ensure they can run for three to four hours as it would need to be.

"So we liased with the National League and with Kidderminster. We've reached an agreement to kick-off two hours earlier at 1pm.

"It's unfortunate but our last home game was so close to Boxing Day so it doesn't give us the time to carry out the work needed and the tests needed to ensure we could host the game.

"We don't work to put the game at risk in any way.

"We could have held off to see if we could get the repair done but we didn't think that was fair to anybody.

"We wanted the fans to know as soon as possible so they can rearrange their plans. We wanted Kidderminster to know as soon as we could and obviously both sets of players and the staff."
