After yesterday's FA Trophy defeat, Hereford manager Paul Caddis has spoken to the Offical Website.
Caddis was in the stands for the tie in which Tate Cambell was sent off.
'First and foremost let’s address the elephant in the room.
Yesterday the performance and most importantly the result wasn’t acceptable. Congratulations to Brentwood Town and I wish them all the best.
The result yesterday was all on me. I let the players down as I wasn’t able to stand on the touchline and fight with them. I am still learning and my discipline simply has to improve. I take accountability on all fronts of my life and won’t shy away on this occasion. I played over 400 games as a player and was never once sent off or suspended in my career, but in my short time as a young manager I’ve had too many suspensions and I have let the players down.
All criticism and blame from yesterday lies at my doorstep. The buck stops with me as the manager of the football club and in life we are all happy to take the plaudits when they come, but I have been at some highly energised supported football clubs and criticism is part of the game which I will take on the chin.'
Later in his statement Caddis expressed the hope that supporters will continue to back his team.
'Your support is vital for us and hopefully we can send you home smiling more often than not. I am still learning and won’t stop learning as a young manager at 36 and from time to time I need your help getting us over the line. I cannot fault your support home or away. It has been a huge source of comfort for my staff and players.
What’s happened has happened and we can’t turn back the clock sadly. We can only make tomorrow better by being positive and forward thinking today. We will attack Tuesday head on and do our best to get a positive result against a tough Scarborough team.
Hope to see you on Tuesday night bringing lots of positivity with you, but I understand it’s up to me to give you something to shout about.
We are currently 6th in the league following a record points tally in the NLN last season, so let’s stay positive.'
