Martin Foyle changed
his starting line up ahead of today’s game against Dartford, bringing in
Kevin Krans, Ross Dyer and Chris Sharp for Eric Odhiambo, Jon Brown and
Sam Smith respectively.

Dan Walker got past his fullback on numerous occasions but failed to delivery a telling cross.
The half went
downhill from that point on, with Dartford scoring almost immediately
afterwards. There was some sloppy defending which allowed Godden to
cross the ball into the box for the unmarked Noble who fired past Evans
from 6 yards.

Hereford made no
changes during half time, but they did look a different side when the
re-emerged from the tunnel. Purdie sent a ball through the centre of the
field to debutante Krans who controlled the ball brilliantly with his
first touch. He then sent a powerful shot from 25-yards past Dartford’s
keeper into the top right corner of the net.

The goal clearly gave the Bulls more confidence as they looked more intent on goal. Dyer sent Sharp goalward after passing the ball through the heart of midfield. Alan Julian could only watch as the ball sailed over his head without threat.
Just two minutes
after Sharp made way for Brodie, loanee Dyer opened his Bulls account as
he gave Hereford the lead on the hour. Sam Gwynne found Dan Walker with
a raking diagonal ball, Walker headed back across goal from the right
and Dyer was on hand to finish from 8 yards.

Tiring goalscorer Krans was subbed for Jon Brown who provided some fresh legs down the left.
The Bulls attempted
to build on their one goal lead as the much-improved Gywnne broke free
of his man and into the penalty area where he was desperately unlucky to
see his shot tipped onto the post.
The rebound fell to
the feet of Walker who from close range managed to blast the ball over
with the goal at his mercy when a simple sidefoot would surely have put
the game to bed.

This arguably cost
the Bulls all three points against the Darts this afternoon as Dartford
soon showed Hereford they were dangerous on the counter-attack.
Chris Bush was
harshly penalised on the right and a cross from the resulting free kick
was sent towards Ibemere at the back post and he had no trouble nodding
the equaliser into the back of the net.

Slightly worryingly, a sub was forced upon Foyle when a tackle on Leadbitter saw him limp off the field. Joel Edwards replaced him.
As the game drew to a
close, both teams had chances to take the lead but failed to convert.
For the Bulls, Purdie’s corner in stoppage time came to nothing. In the
dying minutes of the game, Dartford could have taken the lead when they
won 3 consecutive corners which were scrambled clear.

After what can only
be described as a dire first half, Hereford finally started to play some
football in the second half with Sam Gwynne in midfield having his best
game for the Bulls since his return to first team action. A draw was
probably a fair result but the game should’ve been sewn up when Walker,
who otherwise had quite a good game beating his man on numerous
occasions, missed when it seemed easier to score.
