David Norton returned to Edgar Street in February 1999 as a Cheltenham Town player, and was subjected to a torrent of abuse that afternoon. What didn’t help the situation is back then the details of Norton’s departure weren’t public knowledge.
In an interview conducted in May 2018, Norton told me how he coped with the mental pain of that afternoon, and set the story straight.
