Herefordshire Means Business Enjoyed Their Day At Edgar Street Last Saturday.

Hereford FC Match Sponsors with a BIG Surprise for one of our guests!!

February 27, 2020
As a long-standing partnership with Hereford FC, we were pleased to be part of the Edgar
Street Experience and to be match sponsors for the Hereford FC versus Darlington FC match on Saturday 22nd February!

The Herefordshire Mean Business team arrived at Edgar Street Stadium on a freezing cold Saturday afternoon and were met by the Football Club Commercial Manager, Martin Brain. We made our way up to the RE Resources Hereford Suite where our sponsors table was laid out ready for us and our specially invited guests.

It was not long before the room was full of a buzz of guests enjoying the hospitality on offer including some fans from Darlington! There were free programmes and bottles of wine on the tables, as well as a prize draw to win Weston’s Cider and a chance to guess the team selection for the afternoon’s game.

Before our meal, Martin started the Edgar Street Experience with a promotional video highlighting some of all the amazing things the club had achieved through the years. He then introduced all the tables in the room and invited young guests onto the stage for gifts. The room was full of laughter and conversation, as people enjoyed Martins hospitality and warm welcome.

After the video, Martin did a spot prize draw which one of our guests Charlotte from the Hereford Business Solutions won. Unbeknown to Charlotte, this was all pre-planned. Her partner Terry appeared in the doorway, made his way to the stage, got down on one knee and proposed to her!! Luckily Charlotte said Yes! Congratulations Both!!!

After all the excitement of the proposal, we were served a stunning roast pork dinner with all the trimmings carved at the table followed by Crème brûlée. All dietary requirements were met for our guests and the food was amazing, full of flavour and plenty to go around.
As it was Charlotte’s special day, we nominated her to be the carver for the table. After the meal, Martin did his Carver of the day award, unfortunately Charlotte didn’t win.

We were very honoured to also hear from Ex-Hereford United legend Steve Guinan who gave a talk on his time at Hereford United. This was followed by a tactics talk from Andy Bevan on the formation and strategy he thought Interim manager Josh Gowling would use in the match.

At 2.45pm made our way to the stand to watch the game with our guests. The stadium was full of the sound of singing and of course the Hereford FC drum!
At half time trailing 0-1 we made our way back into the Hereford Suite where there were drinks waiting for us on our tables. Just time for a quick chat and it was back out onto the terraces!

The game ended 2-2. We chose Lenell John-Lewis to be the Herefordshire Means Business, Man of the Match!!

As Match Sponsors, we were taken to the executive club for post-match drinks then on to the pitch to receive a signed shirt and have a picture with the Man of the Match we had chosen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day and our guests, some of whom had never been to Edgar Street, had a fantastic time. The Edgar Street Experience hospitality provided by Martin and the staff at Hereford FC was perfect and we are already looking forward to next time!
