Former Bulls Transfer Speculation

Several former Hereford players could be the subject of transfers before the deadline at 11pm this evening.

News of moves for Mustapha Bundu and Sherjill MacDonald have already been annouced today and last week Craig Stanley signed for Southport.

Bryon Webster is one such player who might move. Sheffield United are said to be interested in signing the Millwall centre back.

Webster joined Hereford on a one month loan in November 2010.

Mayley Watkins could also be moving. Ipswich have had a £1M bid for him rejected by Barnsley but might lift their offer.

Watkins made 34 appearances for Hereford in the 2012/13 season.

Rangers are said to be likely to make an offer for Toumani Diagouraga. He has only made one start for Leeds this season to date.

"Dave" spent two seasons at Edgar Street, signing initially on loan from Watford in August 2007.

Meanwhile Evesham are said to be set to sign Mark Magee from Bishops Cleeve. Magee featured for Cleeve at Edgar Street last Monday.

Beadle Looks Forward To Romulus

Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle has said that he is looking forward to the FA Cup Tie at Romulus next Saturday and he thinks it will take a good performance from them to win the game.

"We've had them watched now, we've had a look at them this weekend so we know roughly what we'll be coming up against maybe," Beadle told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Again like I've said sometimes you can overdo your reports and overdo your scouting and overdo what the other teams are doing.

"I'm sure they've watched us and will be feeling the same about us. They've seen us now and they'll feel they can give us troubles. We feel the same but we just feel now it's about what we do.

"We must set about our business properly and like I said they'll have to have a really good day to get a result against us.

"We go there Saturday in good spirits and look to put a decent performance on."

South And West Bank Holiday Review

Only three crowds in the National League exceeded the 3,102 who came to see Hereford FC maintain their 100 per cent record in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One South & West on Bank Holiday Monday, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

And they saw the Bulls beat a Bishops Cleeve side who had won for the first time on Saturday, 4-0 with Mike Symons opening the scoring just before half-time. John Mills then bagged a quickfire brace in the 53rd and 55th minutes to kill Cleeve off, with Pablo Haysham adding a fourth on 63 minutes.

Tiverton Town and Slimbridge are the only other teams yet to lose in 2016-17 after Swindon Supermarine were beaten 2-1 at North Leigh, who recorded back-to-back holiday wins, thanks to Jamie Cook after three minutes and George Seacole right on half-time proving enough, despite Brad Hooper`s 65th minute penalty reply.
Tiverton though had to be content with one point from a 1-1 Ladysmead draw with neighbours Taunton Town in front of 353.

Levi Landricombe`s 65th minute penalty broke the deadlock to give the Peacocks a lead that Pierce Mitchell cancelled out 13 minutes from time.
Slimbridge didn`t play through as their game at Bridgwater Town was postponed due to ongoing traffic problems on the M5 following a bad accident.

Yate Town and Wantage Town are both yet to pick up a win, although the Alfredians did manage a second point of the campaign in a 1-1 derby draw at home to Didcot Town, whose Luke Carnell rescued them with a 78th minute leveller after Mark Francis had given the hosts a 17th minute lead.
Yate lost their derby at Cossham Street against Mangotsfield United, for whom Lewis Powell bagged a brace either side of a goal from on-loan Olly Mehew – Tom Harrison netting a stoppage time consolation for the Bluebells.
Steve Claridge`s Salisbury FC are up to fifth in the table after hammering hosts AFC Totton 4-0 at Testwood Park.
A crowd of 662 saw loanee Tommy Wright net a hat-trick for the Whites in the sixth, 39th and 54th minutes, with former Gosport Borough favourite Justin Bennett adding the fourth four minutes from time.
Another terrific crowd of 884 saw the Devon derby go in hosts Bideford`s favour against promoted Barnstaple Town, who took a 14th minute lead through Liam Gregory.
Sean Downing equalised 10 minutes after half-time and Dan Western won it for Biddy 15 minutes from time.

Larkhall Athletic edged the derby at home to Paulton Rovers by the odd goal in five, the Larks leading 2-0 through a brace from Joe Tumelty by the half-hour mark.
Nathan Legge on 47 minutes and Sol Wheatley on 66 minutes pulled Rovers back on level terms, only for Josh Egan to win it for the Larks 18 minutes from the end.
Wimborne Town remain in second spot, but had to make to with a point from a 2-2 home draw with Winchester City.
Luke Holmes put the Magpies ahead as early as the fourth minute. Stuart Green levelled on 28 minutes, but the home side restored their advantage just past the hour-mark through Toby Holmes before Howard Neighbour equalised 17 minutes from time.

From The Archives - Guinan Strike Keeps United Top

13 years today Hereford United topped the Conference after a 2-0 win at Stevenage.

Here's a reminder:
Stevenage Borough 0 - 2 Hereford United

An exciting match at Broadhall Way saw plenty of chances and an outcome that satisfied another sizeable away following, with Hereford United making sure they remained top of the Nationwide Conference.

In front of 2,705, Hereford scored a goal in each half to secure the points, but had to overcome a penalty given after Anthony Elding went stumbling in the area under a challenge from Michael Rose. The ball, though, was going out of play and it was not a goalscoring opportunity.

The Stevenage Borough top scorer, with four goals in five matches, could not add to his total, though. His spot-kick was pushed away by United stopper Matt Baker, and with the ball loose in the area, Elding fired the rebound over the bar.

The Bulls, fielding the same starting eleven for the sixth game in succession, felt hard-done-by with the decision. The tackle appeared well timed, but referee Mr. G. Sutton of Lincolnshire signalled that a shirt pull was the offence on twenty one minutes.

Prior to the spot-kick, Hereford's Ben Smith had had his long-range volley pushed over the Stevenage crossbar by Nathan Abbey while a similar effort from Elding sailed wide at the other end.

The league leaders took the lead on twenty six minutes, thanks to Ben Smith. The former Southend United midfielder notched his fifth goal of the season as he weaved past a Boro' defender before firing a low shot onto the far post, and this bounced into the net.

Paul Parry could have made it 2-0 on the half hour, but he turned the ball inches over the top after Rob Purdie had beaten Simon Travis on the Hereford left.

After the break, Stevenage could have got back onto level terms but Baker made an excellent save from Peter Costello's fierce drive after seven minutes, but soon afterwards a long run took Michael Rose from his own half to the Boro' area, and Steve Guinan's shot went across goal from the byline.

The United attacker made no mistake nine minutes later, as he launched a right-footed effort into the roof of the net to double the advantage.

The game then looked beyond Stevenage, although Elding did test Baker with a header, and United could have added a third two minutes before time when substitute David Brown nodded a Paul Parry cross into the arms of Abbey.
