And here are some facts and figures:
  • 25 goals scored, by 10 different players
    • Mills (6), Symons (6), Bundu (5), Tumelty (2), Birch (1), Edwards (1), Haysham (1), Purdie (1), Staley (1), Willets (1)
  • Hereford have played teams from 5 different leagues, three teams of which were top of the table at the time
    • Hartley Wintney - Combined Counties League Premier
    • Leicester Nirvana - United Counties League Premier
    • Salisbury - Wessex Premier League
  • The Bulls knocked 3 fellow MFL Premier teams out of the vase
    • Bardon Hill, Rocester and Brocton
  • In 3 out of the 8 draws they were drawn away
    • Bardon Hill, Rocester and Hartley Wintney
  • Only 1 game went to extra time, and substitute John Mills scored a euphoric 119th minute winner causing Camberley heartbreak
  • Hereford have accumulated £19,000 in prize money so far, with £17,000 for the runners up and £25,000 for the winners
On top of the £19k prize money, Hereford will have also received 50% (after costs) of all the gate monies from each game. Not forgetting the huge interest the Vase has generated, which is likely to have had an affect on the amount of merchandise sold in the Club Shop.

Transfer Deadline Has Gone

Hereford FC will be unable to bring any more players into the club this season as the transfer deadline was last Thursday.

The exception to this rule would be 'emergency cover' for example if all goalkeepers were injuried. And even that would have to be 'sanctioned' by the League.

A couple of other points from the League. Firstly they have confirmed that there was absolutely no chance that the game between Alvechurch and Hereford could have been played on May 4th.

"The rules from the FA are quite clear," said Midland League press officer Gary Hazelhurst.

"We can extend as long as the games do not have a bearing on promotion or relegation.  On that basis 4th May was never going to happen."

Secondly the FA told the Midland League late yesterday (Wednesday) that 'over 14000' tickets have been sold to Hereford supporters for the FA Vase final.

Thirdly the top Midland Premier League goalscorers:

John Mills   Hereford 44
Craig Bannister   Sporting Khalsa 39
Lei Brown   Highgate United 28
Jamie Cuss  Westfields 27

Finally the date for the Midland League Cup Final is still unknown.

"Talks are ongoing regarding both the date and venue.  At the moment it looks likely to be week commencing 9th May."

Which should Hereford reach the final could fit in well between the HFA County Cup final on May 2nd and the FA Vase final on May 22nd.

Midland League Weekend Preview

Below is this weekend's Midland Premier League preview:

Three games on Thursday night as teams play catch up following the horrendous winter. Hereford face the long journey to Long Eaton United looking to close the gap on Alvechurch at the top of the table. When the two sides met back in October, Hereford won it with a single goal – they would settle for the same again. 3rd placed Sporting Khalsa can close the gap to 7 points should they beat relegation-threatened Coventry Sphinx at the Aspray Arena. Walsall Wood have eyes on a top 5 finish and they welcome Rocester to Oak Park.

On Saturday, the top two have away trips to sides struggling near the foot of the table. Leaders
Alvechurch travel to Sphinx Drive to face a Coventry Sphinx side playing their second game in 3 days. Hereford have one of their longest journeys of the season as they head to Nottingham to face 2nd bottom Dunkirk, a repeat of the opening game of the season which the Bulls won 4-1. 3rd placed Sporting Khalsa are off to Church Lane for a game against mid-table Boldmere St Michaels. All Khalsa can do is keep winning and hope the pressure begins to tell on the top two. 4th placed Shepshed Dynamo are too far adrift for a promotion push but a top four finish is the obvious target. They welcome 10th placed Rocester to the Dovecote.

Heanor Town have had an excellent first season in the MFL and they travel to Westfields eyeing a top 5 finish. At the bottom, survival is looking unlikely for Continental Star and they probably need to win most of their games starting this week at Dales Lane against AFC Wulfrunians. Bardon Hill are battling to finish out of the bottom three and with games in hand on Coventry Sphinx, they can make a significant step to safety with a win at Stourport Swifts. Quorn are far from safe particularly if Coventry Sphinx and Bardon Hill get on a run. They have a tough trip to Loughborough University themselves comfortably in the middle of the pack. Two teams that will be disappointed with their league positions are Coleshill Town and Long Eaton United and they meet in a game that has goals written all over it at Pack Meadow. Highgate United are another side that can realistically aim for a top 5 finish and they travel to Stourbridge Road to face Lye Town, who have won 6 of their last 7.

Parking At Wembley On FA Vase Sunday

Cars can be parked at Wembley Stadium for £20 on FA Vase Final day.

Coaches To Wembley

With Hereford FC in the FA Vase final on May 22nd, most of the 'luxury' coaches around the area are expected to be carrying supporters to the game.

And as there are no trains from Hereford on that day which will reach Wembley in time, coaches may need to be brought in from outside the area.

As for any other away game this season Hereford Awaydays are organising travel. Currently they have coaches starting at various destinations including Llandrindod Wells, Ludlow, Coleford and Ledbury as well as Hereford.

They are looking into the possibility of a coach from the Bristol area as well.

To book text Reg on 07958 176 937 with Full Name, Pick-up and Number of Seats

Meanwhile the Central Tupsley Community Group have two double deckers going to the game.

If interested please call/text  07711 044 419

Also providing transport is Soccer Express. As yet they are only going from the Merton Meadow car park next to Edgar Street. More details at   0800 118 2216 from 10am -10pm. They accept Credit/Debit Card Payments

Long 'Disappointed' At Postponement

Alvechurch managerr Ian Long has said he was disappointed that yesterday's game with Hereford had to be postponed. The game will now be played on Thursday April 7th.

“I am really disappointed that the game didn’t go ahead," Long told the Droitwich Advertiser

“I can understand why the referee made the decision he did, but if he had inspected it later the pitch may well have passed.

“There was rain overnight, but the weather had dried up in the morning and if he had checked it at noon it would have been a different story.

“I can understand he has to weigh up people travelling from Hereford, but I would have loved the game to be played.
“We had all put a long of time and effort in and it was a shame for the game not to be on.”

The paper also confirms that Avlechurch were 'keen' for the game to have been played in the week commencing May 2nd which would have meant an extension to the season.
