Turner supports Pitman

Former Hereford United manager Graham Turner has given his backing to care-taker manager Jamie Pitman and at the same time noted he was in a similar situation at Shrewsbury many years ago.

"What you have to look at is how well the team has been performing," Turner told the Hereford Times.

"I can see him getting the role permanently. What the players need to do for him is to continue with the current success.

"It's a bit reminiscent of when I took over at Shrewsbury. It was purely in a caretaker capacity as the board felt I was too young and inexperienced.

"But I was duly offered the job and I can see a lot of parallels with Jamie."
